ADRIAN GHENIE s-a născut la Baia Mare în 1977. în prezent trăieşte şi lucrează la Berlin. A
absolvit, în 2001, Universitatea de Artă şi Design din Cluj, iar în 2005, împreună cu Mihai Pop,
a fondat la Cluj Galeria Plan B, un spaţiu dedicat expunerii şi cercetării artei contemporane. Din
2008, Plan B şi-a deschis un sediu la Berlin

Adrian Ghenie a reprezentat România la cea de-a 56-a ediţie a Bienalei de Artă de la Veneţia
cu proiectul Darwiris Room (2015). Picturile lui au fost prezentate în cadrul unor expoziţii
personale organizate de instituţii precum Centrul de Artă Contemporană (Mâlaga), Muzeul de
Artă Contemporană (Denver), Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst (S.M.A.K., Ghent), şi Muzeul
Naţional de Artă Contemporană din Bucureşti. Ghenie este reprezentat de mai multe galerii
influente la nivel global, între care Galeria Pace şi Galeria Thaddaeus Ropac.
